The tailgate is shaped to accept the round end of the trunion. I'd be interested to see a picture of what you have there.... Can't see how it's possible for something to be missing from your tailgate.

I tried taking some just now but it won't work well in the dark. I will get some in the morning. thanks so much for the help guys.
