If it’s not rotted out - sure it’s worth it. Just not to me. You’d have to have plenty of space to do the restoration and $15,000 just to make it driveable - then what do you do with it? They’re like restoring old fire trucks: great for parades and such, but what do you do with them the rest of the time?

yeah it would be a big jump on a swb tahoe. and a crew cab. there is enough doors and frames there for two projects

The guys that advertise the 20+ 60-66 GM trucks here on the Dallas area Craigslist have one of those. I couldn't judge the condition because it was wedged in a garage bay w/shelves lining the walls on both sides.

I thought the same thing.... Sure it's cool, but then what? I suppose you could build it & then 'lease' it to a limo/shuttle service for special events or something.

nahh as stated i would cut it up make a taho and a cre cab from it then I have the family ride and the sunday truck

i've got a '63 carryall and it's a great truck.. had it for over 20+ years.. wish i had a few more doors ..great for family and camping..take out rear seats you don't use and sleep in the back..
if it's not rotted out,,good deal....
and yes it's a factory option..used by schools,,military,, and hotels..
call it a nonelastic limo..limo black side windows ,,it would be cool.....

just a afterthought,,, even if you spent$10,000.00 on it,, you could rent your self and it out as retro limo for around $200.00 per hour.. after 60 hours,, it's paid for and making a profit!!!
it would have to be a nice ride,, but i think you can handle it...

they were not a factory option but were built all with factory parts. they were done by a custom coach builder(older term). they would have been dealer ordered usually as a panel of whatever capacity and then sent for whatever had to be done to them and then delivered to the customer. Quite a few places around N/A did this work. in Canada there was one in Ottawa and one in Vancouver for sure. the Van. one built a lot of crew cabs or crummies for the logging industry. the ambulance that I had was built in Ottawa.
it is like school buses or fire trucks. there is a cab and chassis ordered and it goes to whomever is going to build them
