Re: 1963 c10 Disk brake upgrade

I would use 1973-87 C-10 parts. They are more common and cheaper to purchase. But beware when you start to replace the parts that 73-80 (big 10 trucks) will have a 1 1/4" rotor and 81-87 will have a 1" rotor. Calipers, spindles and wheel bearings are different between the rotor size. Also before you start your hunt compare prices on a complete disc brake wheel kit, it may be cheaper and easier to purchase a complete wheel kit that already includes NEW upper and lower ball joints, inner and outer tie rods, spindles, wheel bearings and hardware.

Re: 1963 c10 Disk brake upgrade

I agree.....any '73-'87 C10 and the V10's thru '91 will work, but just watch out for the 1" thick rotor. I believe the drop spindles that are available are for the 1 1/4" rotor.

You can switch just from the ball joints out, or you can swap the entire crossmember for the upgraded rubber or urethane bushings in the control arms.
