white vs. chrome GMC grilles
Most of the GMC's I have seen (including mine) have a chrome grille. Some, like Wes' new '67, have an off-white colored one. The only actual trucks I have seen with a white grille are '67s. In my manual, it looks like the trucks have a white grille. What gives? Were white and chrome available on all years?

My GMC Master Parts Book shows that only 67-68 were painted. I believe that white or gray were available. My stock 68 has a gray grill plus the glove box face and bezel face are gray. The truck is very original, so I think gray was an option.

Some one posted a pic of a GMC manual that showed a red grill...a factory brochour if memory serves.
I have seen a couple later GMC's with claimed original white grills, but never anything proven. |
