turn signal wont blink?

Guys, my turn signals stoped working [correctly] yesterday. Sure they come on, but they dont blink. It just looks like I only have one brake light on. The light in the cab indicatiing the turn signal just stays on also, no blinking. What exactly do I need to replace, and what does it entail?

If you have a bulb out then that will stop it from blinking.
It is designed that way to let you know you have a bulb out.
You have two wires that make the whole circuit and if any of the wires "break" then you know you have a problem. The filaments in the bulbs themselves act as part of these wires.
Change out your bad bulb and that should fix it.

You will most likely have to replace the flasher canister. Or what ever you call it.....It will be located on the fuse block (there will be two of them one for turn signals and one for emergency flashers..)
The smaller one will most likely be the one you will have to replace. The bigger one will be the emergency flashers and it is a heavy duty unit, you will want to flip flop these units to see if it actually is the flasher unit before you go buy one... I don't think they are that much though $4??? The blinkers, if it was the flasher will blink faster than normal just because the heavy duty unit will be in operation.. That should tell you if you need one or not if you do buy one change it out and hopefully that will do it ...
Good luck

Dave

PS buy a standard unit or your blinkers will flash like crazy like when you tested it.

Try Mike76251's idea first then if that doesn't work try mine...
But didn't you say that your light was staying on like a brake light? That would mean the bulb was good, does it not?

I disgress,
That post line got me thinking that it is a bulb,
Sorry.
Put a new flasher in there and let us know.
It just plugs into the fuse block and is a piece of cake.
