Which muffler for a 402 Big Block?

I currently have a 1970 Chevy Truck with a 402 Big Block in need of mufflers.
I will be driving it once or twice week for work only. I' m sensitive to loud noises and on a budget. What do you guys recommend?

Thanks.

Re: Which muffler for a 402 Big Block?

Dynomax Super Turbo mufflers, hands down.

They're quiet (way quieter than a Flowmaster 40, or even Flowmaster's quieter 50 or 50 SUV - had both,) flow really well, and they're dirt cheap.

I have a set on my '92 Caprice. It has a high flow cat, so that dampens the sound some. Sounds low and mellow, but pretty good when you get on it.

I can't remember exactly what model number I got, but I think it was the 17749 muffler. Take a look at http://www.dynomax.com/ecat/pdfs/superturbo.pdf

Then you can surf Summit, Jegs, eBay, or whatever to get a good price on them.

I may have a video of the Caprice somewhere if you want a sound clip. I'll have to see what I can dig up.

I was thinking Dynomax too but it slipped my mind for some reason. last i checked 46.95 or something like that for 1 seems pretty fair
