Re: Going to Iraq...Keep or sell my truck?
My vote is too keep it too. It's just one more truck to regret selling if you do.
Also like most have said. THANK YOU for your service. Come home safe, and get us some more pics of those trucks!!! |

Definetley keep it! Either save up while overseas or buy parts and be happy when you get back with your new parts so you can start wrenchin' right away. Thanks for your service, stay safe!

Re: Going to Iraq...Keep or sell my truck?
First off I have been through what you are about to experience. I have been to Iraq twice and Korea once. You should definitely keep your truck. You are gonna need an outlet while you are there. You should have routine access to this site and all the sites you would need to read up and gain some valuable knowledge. Plus you are gonna be making good money with no place to spend it. And everyone here loves to spend money on their rides. THis will help you along your journey over there. You can lay up some serious parts while you are away, then when you get home, take all the leave you can get and throw down. It will be the best release of all that stored up tension, get you back into things here back in the states. Like I said I have done this 3 times, first trip I came back to a new motor and transmission for my 69 camaro project. Even if you dont want to buy parts, just dont sell it until you get back. It will have appreciated for another year!

Thank you for your service!
Keep your head & your butt down. Now, for the subject at hand, I'd store it.

Woodmaan,
Keep the truck. I'm in Iraq right now and all I can think of is getting home to work on it. It helps take you mind off of this place in your down time. |

you should sell it, but under one condition, you must be wiling to sell it for 10 bucks and be willing to drive it to michigan.

Zombie, you are the only one on here that made any sence. I am going to go get in the truck right now and spend 5 of my last 21 days driving to Michigan. Thanks for the wisdom! lmao

Re: Going to Iraq...Keep or sell my truck?
I've had seller's regret before. I'm over here in Iraq and have been here for over two and a half years now and mines waiting on me to D Mobe later this year. If you have somewhere to store it, I would keep it.

Re: Going to Iraq...Keep or sell my truck?
From another old Vet (VietNam), who sold a Triumph TR-3 two days before going on active duty....I say keep it/store it, then work up a play while you're gone and then work your plan when you get back.
I listened to buddies while I was on active duty who talked about their cars "back home" and what they had done or what they were going to do when they got home/out. All I could do was regret selling the TR-3. If you are satisfied with what you have and have peace of mind in where it will be stored, I say (again) keep it and store it. As others have said, you'll have more money to play with when you get back. My youngest son was "over there" on three occasions, and he always looked forward to making some extra money. I volunteered for 'Nam because I knew I would make more money....$65 for combat pay and $55 for flying status, plus no taxes to pay. Geeze, $110 a month to have all that fun. Whoodathunkit?
