gauge cluster/sending unit?

I found a nice set of stock gauges to replace mine, was wondering mine is 1980 with just idiot lights and the new one has the proper gauges, temp, oil press. How to I find out what sending units to use,I have some in a box somewhere, what does a real unit look like compared to one that was idiot light,or will it just plug in and work

Re: gauge cluster/sending unit?

They won't just plug in. You'll need Silverado senders and re-arange the I/P plug pins.
There is a couple threads here on that subject.
