Re: got some new subs

A sealed box will give you greater accuracy and a ported box will give you more efficiency (more thump for the watts.)

Being an old fart -- I tend to side with accuracy, especialy in trucks where thee isn't all tat much interior volume to fill.

Re: got some new subs

Firstly, you can't jsut go and drill a hole into the box and call it a "port". It's just a box with a hole in it...

400watts should be just fine to run these things. I have SERIOUS doubts that they could handle more then 300watts RMS...

lol exactly. it'll sound like crap of you just make a hole, it needs to be tuned and edges smoothed for the best sound. just leave the box sealed or look around at pawn shops and getcha a ported one

Re: got some new subs

the thing abou tlegacy is.. that it's legacy...
those cheapo subs wont last long.. dont try to PUSH them they'll fall apart..
but if you use it in moderation.. they'll last their intended life cycle..
just.. dont G it out with the THUMP THUMP.. they'll die.. fast

just my experience
