DFW sheet metal suppliers

Is there anyone in the Dallas/Ft.Worth area that carries cowl induction hoods for our trucks ('68 to be specific) where a guy could swing by and pick it up? Instead of having to have it shipped and wait, plus the added costs?

There was a guy on CL that said he had a warehouse of parts, but I can't find him now.

OK, thanks. I guess if this swap meet is the closest, best way for me to get a cowl hood w/o having to have it shipped...I'm there! Who knows...I might find something else I need.

American Classic Truck parts is listed in the vendors links directory on this website. I don't know anything about them, but they are located in Aubrey, TX, which is a little northeast of Denton.

American Classic Truck

They sell TriPlus parts. We use to buy from them when I lived in Decatur Texas before we sold parts. Never had any issues with them at all

Re: DFW sheet metal suppliers

I always call Kenny and order my junk and he has it set aside for me at the swap meet. He's actually going to have a truck bed load of sheetmetal waiting for me at the swap. It would cost a lot more if I had to pay for delivery on sheetmetal.

Re: DFW sheet metal suppliers

There's a Camaro parts guy in Murphy that a Goodmark distributor. You can find him on their website.

On 35 North of Denton there's a place that sells sheetmetal. Check CL and search for Denton or quarter panel.

I think on Division in Arlington there's a classic car dealer that also sells parts. South side, just west of the new stadium a bit.

I can't vouch for any of them or say that they stock the hood...

I would call Kenny and tell him to bring you one. Tell him a fat boy in overhauls from Tennessee said so! LOL!

Re: DFW sheet metal suppliers

The AmericanClassic place doesn't have a store-front. When I inquired about picking some stuff up (I have a co-worker who lives in Aubrey that drove a truck to work everyday), they said no.... everything is shipped. I figiured they were likely drop shipping from other distributors & just didn't want to advertise about it. Not bad, but not good either.

I've dealt w/Kenny's on more than one occasion. Definitely a good experience. Call them in advance & make arrangements for picking it up @ a specific swap meet (makes it easier on you & they can carry more than x amount of something if they already have commitments on the parts).

I purchased used parts from them on numerous occasions. They do drop ship like most all companies do.

I have to agree with the others, Kennys is the best I've ever dealt with.

Re: DFW sheet metal suppliers

How does one find out when and where these meets are being held. Dallas is a long drive, but I might be willing to go just to meet people and save on shipping costs.

Don't forget to call them and tell them what you want. That way they'll be sure to have it there. .

Re: DFW sheet metal suppliers

I guarantee there is a supplier in Dallas, but they will likely carry the cheaper pressings and will probably only have the front fenders, inner fenders, tailgates and some patches like the simple rockers, cab corners, bumpers, etc. I know we have one here in Denver called Certifit. They only sell wholesale but are really cheap. Fender for $76.50, rocker $16.95, tailgate $103...

I haven't tried them, but I'm tempted to try a fender and if it's not great, I'll just use it for patches or practice my welding. lol.

we tell people all the time to buy the inner fenders from Sortafit. We use them to save customers money if on a budget. If you can get them local thats great cause they ship the stupid things truck freight. I know a customer who has a extremely high $$ C10 that has them on it and he had no complaints. their really good if you are cutting them up to fit a custom suspension. Some of their parts are real low quality even though they claim its all from the same Mfg. but thats not true.

If you order from Kenny, be sure and call him Monday or Tuesday. He will be leaving Tulsa mid week to head down here for the swap.

Well...Action Crash Parts said $600 for one. So...I called Kenny's...he's fallen and gotten hurt...and won't be making the swap meet.

Yep, Kenny's wife called me this morning. Seems the old fella broke his right ankle, so she wanted to give heads up that my order was not going to be there.
