Official Introduction....
Well, I have been wanting one of these trucks for a while now. Finally got my hands on one that should be a pretty good platform for what I want to do. 1971 GMC LWB with the factory 402 BB. Has 72000 original miles. All trim holes have been shaved, and truck has been tubbed. It is currently in primer. After I do the SWB conversion, I will be adding a custom two tone paint job. Has a narrowed Ford 9" as well. Don't have any pics up yet, will be getting some up this weekend.
Here's the plan for the truck: -SWB conversion -Custom two tone paint -Oversized disc brakes on all 4's -Air ride suspension -Custom interior with bucket seats, and NBS interior pieces -Carbed LSx Forged 403 stroker (sittin at engine builders shop already) -Either turbo or Nitrous for the power adder. Engine is built for nitrous currently, so if I decide to go turbo, I will have to change a few things. We'll see -Custom wheels: will end up with 20x13's in rear with around a 8-10" lip I'm going to try to do all the work myself as far as the chopping of the bed and frame etc., with the guidance of my paint and body man. I am extremely excited about this project. I don't think I've ever been this excited about one so far! Here are a few of my last projects, all of which had numerous performance upgrades. And again, will add pics of the '71 this weekend. Here is our Team logo that I designed as well.... Thanks for looking, and I enjoy learning from this site, and sharing my progress of the build with y'all! Austin

Re: Official Introduction....
Thanks for the comment.
*A little update* Setup will be LSx 403 stroker, with BIG single turbo, and a blow through carb setup. A buddy just gave me a turbo from an International semi that had a cummins in it. Don't know the exact turbo specs just yet, but should be receiving it sometime this week and I'll get the details.

Re: Official Introduction....
Welcome from Lubbock. I have a line on a wood floor short bed in pretty decent shape if you decide to do it the easy way . All the steak pockets and stuff are shaved. Hit me up if you are ever going to be in Lubbock. I have a friend with a pretty good stash of parts here. He has about 20 of these trucks. Welcome to the board

Well, I would do the wood floor bed, but I have to have the wheel wells tubbed, and the center section raised as well. How much does he want for it though? I might could fab something up if it's in the right price range!
