Totally scored on craigslist today.

So I answered and ad about some 4wd chevy hubcaps that had been sitting on a shelf in the garage for 30 years. I was expecting a set of later body style caps. but I got these instead. I paid forty five bucks for them and I feel they are worth every penny. the pictures don't do them justice.

Re: Totally scored on craigslist today.

yes, the ones you got are visually correct except the bow tie should be blue. (they are 3/4 ton too in case you didn't know)
They may not be the same metal, but like I said, visually...

Re: Totally scored on craigslist today.

You should have no trouble getting rid of them if they are not what you wanted, the 3/4 tons are worth more, but as clean as those are, someone would love to hammer 'em on their wheels!! Good find IMO

I have a 1/2 ton 4x4 frame for my Suburban...They are easily worth what you paid for them to me,

As CG said, nothing to him. You did not overpay if you can use them, but worth is all relative. As far as going prices....I have not seen a perfect set for sale since I have been on the board, but I don't think they would bring alot more than you paid 60-75.00 maybe?

Re: Totally scored on craigslist today.

I guess what I was trying to say earlier was; If these have significant value being how nice they are, and I used them on my truck and ruined one out 4 wheeling or something. would I be destroying something significant? Like say a 72 extreme bend tow hook? Judging by the amount of caps I've seen within the last day they seem common. I'm going for a stock lifted 4x4(like Bouncytruck) But a little more aggressive tire and with a winch and such other kit. They are just so nice. I didn't want to ruin something I would have to pay 100-200 dollars to duplicate. I'm going to run these and not worry about it.

You will have the nicest caps on the trail....for a while. LOL I don't think that you are ruining anything that is irreplacable. Just My Opin.
