The abrasive disc that was mention above work good also. I find wire wheel works great for bondo remove not so much for paint and rust. The disc mention about will work great, but get expensive after a while. Rather you go with the wire wheel or the abrasive disc I would use aircraft stripper first handle most of the paint removal for a whole bed side.

Yes your the only one, im still in shock to see exactly how much was on there.

There are 3 inch long screws that were and some still under the bondo screwed into the bedside and tail light area. I guess to help keep the bondo on the truck

The first picture is clean up from a flap disc on my 4 inch grinder.
The others what I cleaned up with a wire wheel after the flap disc. from what I notice the flap takes off more bondo quickly then the wire wheel.
And as thick as it is on my truck im going to stick with that then clean up with the wheel. Any thoughts?

I agree, the prices im finding are so high, it makes me not want to pay for a bedside. Finding one in the junkyard thats not damage is the other problem.

You got to remember this was done back in the early to mid 80's.
And my back then who really worked on metal, filler was the way to go.
You should see the dust. If you notice in that area I still have not gotten to the metal yet.

Back before stud guns some guys would drill holes and use a screw in a slidehammer to pull the dents, then weld the holes shut, well looks like we skipped that last step, wheres my tube of red hardener!

I pulled out at least 12 screws, and cut the heads off of bout 10 more.
