front leaf springs... need some advice/help!!

we took off the back and front leaf springs. Got the back ones back on but the front ones won't go back on. Cant get shackle mount wide enough to put the end of the spring in to bolt it on. Kinda hard to explain it, sorry. We tryed hammering it in and it won't slide in place.

If we grinded off a little bit on the metal sleeve that inside the very front bushings would that hurt anything?

going out there tonight... need help asap!!!!

shouldnt hurt as long as the springs dont make contact with the shackle

I had the same problem when I put my lift kit in.... only thing that I can say is to get some leverage... I bent mine out just enough to allow the 5lb sledge to knock the front of the spring in.
