Just wondering what tires you guys run on your 1 ton duallies. Mine has a mismatched set of six 235/85/R16's on it right now, a couple of which need replacing. I'd like to find a good set of matching tires to replace them with, any suggestions on size, type, load range etc. etc. I'll have to buy used since I can't afford new lol

i personally don't have a 1 ton dually but there is one that drives around in my area and it just has one big fat tire in the back. and it looks pretty sick.. but if your using it for driving on the dirt or something then i have no idea.. he just uses his dually to tow his race car and go pick-up parts..

Back before the 16" radials were available I ran 7.50/16 tube type. I ordered these in preference to the low profile 16.5 tires. The duallies with radials, I run 235/85-16's load range E. You could get by with load range D for most work.

My 83 k30 dually uses 7.50/16 E tube type tires, my 06 K3500 Uses LT215 85R16 Es.

Are you looking for an off-road / aggressive tire ( which will be louder), or a quieter highway tire for pulling a trailer or something. If it sees a lot of weight I'd go E rating. If not a lot of weight I'd go D range.

Try the local autowreckers. I believe its 20 bucks a tire, any size. I got a set not too long ago that were almost new for a smaller car, but won't hurt to call.

the later 80's square bodys came with 215/85/16 then the 88 through when ever 1 tons came with 235/75/16

My 1988 2 door regular cab V30 with 235/85-16 and my 1986 M1008 1 ton with 255/85-16s. The 255/85's can be run in dualls.

These technical clips are from C/K 1986, and R/V 87,88, and 90 GM brochures, 88 and 90 are hard to read. The 30 series came with 235/85-16 tires.

Firestone transforce E-range, that is what everyone runs on dually around here, deep tread and long lasting, good on 4x4's and quiet.
