Trans filter mount
Here is a little (for us dialup guys) pic of a transmission filter I mounted.
It let me hook up a trans. temp guage real easy. I ran it with 3/8" stainless line 'cause I have had those blasted rubber hoses that are supplied in kits fail real quick. The output go to a huge trans cooler behind my grill. MOST necessary with any 700R4. |

Great Idea! Where'd you get that adapter? would an S10 remote oil filter from the 4.3 S10 work? I like the magnet on top. A friend of mine put one in every pan he takes off.

That is a standard oil filter adapter avalible from Summit or Jegs. It uses HP4 Fram Racing filters you can get most anywhere like Autozone or Napa. I use one on my trans (the pic) and another just like it on the opposite fenderwell for engine oil. Makes changing engine oil super easy! I couldn't tell you on the S10 remote setup. I have never even lifted the hood of one of those. I know C-10s (or just about anything with a V8) only. If you could send me some pics of a S-10 setup including the adapter and a shot of a line section with a 25 cent piece near so I can judge the line size I can tell you. |

Why don't you just get "magnetic" rod caps? That way when they fly through the side of the block they will just stick to the fenders or something and you can "reuse" them.(!!!) Seriously, Counting the stainless tubing, fittings, and the adapter, I think you could do it for less than $50 US. You would need to get the stainless fittings off of eBay if you don't have any laying around 'cause they are super high. Of course it would cost a bit more if you put a cooler in the line like I did. That would add another $75 to it. |
