Bed mounting pad size?
Hey all,
New member here, although I've been a lurker for awhile. What I've got is a '72 fleetside long bed. It was my father n laws, 1 owner. I FINALLY got it back from the machine shop/mechanic's. We bored the 350 by .030, ballanced and printed the motor. The TH350 was freshened up w/ a #2 shift kit. Drive shaft ballanced, basically a new driveline. Holly street avenger 670 carb, hei distributor, headers, and so on. This weekend we will be working on the interior, laying sound mad, mocking the 40/20/40 seats. My question is as noted in the title, what size are the pads for the bed? I'm sure we'll have enough left of the FatMat to use. Has anyone ever used something similar for those pads? Will post pics of my project soon. Thanks! Rut ![]() |

Re: Bed mounting pad size?
Are you talking about a bed mat? Or the pads that go between the frame and the underside of the bed? In terms of the Fat Mat, are you insulating the entire bed?

The pads between the bed and frame.
No, I'm not using sound deadener in the bed, just the interior floorboard, firewall, inside the doors, etc. I'm just trying to use the leftover scraps between the bed and frame. (Anti-squeek purposes only). Call me cheap, but I don't wanna spend 10$, plus shipping. Rut ![]() |

Re: Bed mounting pad size?
I know they sell them in the resto books, but I don't think the factory used any. If they did I have never seen them on any truck that I have ever owned or worked on.
