INSTALLED THE 3.08 taking the 67 to a big cruz in 7/2/09
well I need either a 1955 chevy car bell housing or will have to make a spacer for the 3 speed overdrive tranny , I won't install it unless I am certain it will be right ! I am a mechanic and just can't stand a cobbled up mess !
anyway I got home from work the other day monday ? I think it was , and I tore the rear end apart and installed my 3.08 ring gear and pinion set with the center unit to match , TOOK ME ALMOST 4 HOUR'S ! I must be getting old , anyway IT ROCK"S !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! that was what I needed , it still pull's hill's just fine and will turn 80 mph without any trouble at all I'm HAPPY tommorow after work we are going down the wise county to the big cruz night over there and I'm gonna take my 67 C10 this time , I mostly take my 67 camaro but with the new gear's let's roll the truck over there one time !!! if I can remember to take my camera I will take some pic's ,,,,
