78L X 48W Or at least those are the measurements of mine. Keep in mind mine still has the slat configuration. However, it doesnt seem like it would be to difficult to remove the slats, bring in one piece that size, and bolt it into the orriginal holes. Never having done it I may be wrong though...

Check out www.mar-k.com and look up their installation area. They have instructions for cutting your own bed wood.
