is the wrap around window specific to certain years...or is it just a custom feature for all years... and why does that simple feature make the trucks look so much better??imo.

60-63 had the wrap-around (or knee-knocker) windshields. GM did away with it for '64.

Ford had the flat windshield design before GM and sales were dropping at GM because of the problems they had with the torsion bars of the 60-62 years. Despite a large media campaign and all new suspension and drive train in 63 the populace viewed the truck as old styling. Gm decided to change the look and featured a flat windshield in 64. Statistically sales rose after 63 and perhaps that is why you see more 64-66 trucks that their older brothers.

Didn't sales rise rather dramatically after the design change in for '64? I was thinking that it was a pretty big jump. I have found that with the 60-63 design it is really a love/hate thing. I absolutely love the look of the wraparound windshield while many others find it horribly ugly.

Personal taste perhaps,it was the end of an era.I prefer the wrap around windshield. The trucks seem to have lost their luster after 63. same grille for next 3 years.

Believe me, I know full well the parts cost, especially for a '63 C20. It's kind of mind boggling at times

. That's one thing I try to warn people about. If you want to save money then go with the '64-'66 style.

dang you guys are badass. i ask one little question and get loads of informative responses. i guess its a good thing i got the 64 model. my funds are little to none. is any body in here in the orlando florida area???? my trucks in millions of pieces and i dont know where to go from here.

All the info is here all you have to do is search and read.

Yeah I've found out the meat and potatoes of the aftermarket is in the 64-66 trucks. I couldn't get suspension parts for my 62 even if I wanted to! Good thing I'm gonna switch out the x member and bag it anyways. But even the little things are harder to find on the pre 64

1960-1966 Factory Assembly Manual, you can find this book everywhere. It has a bunch of factory drawings that can help you to put your truck back together. Best of all look for trucks like yours around where you live, ask the owners to show you their trucks. Look at how there's are put together. Digital camera is really handy at capturing details. Scrapyards have a vast amount of information in their inventories and they let you lean on their truck. Take notes when you take something apart. Bag it and catalog it.

im happy with what i have. im just never satisfied. i have another question too. does anyone know about how many miles a 300ci I6 could put on the road before going ka-put?

Inline 6 engine's seem to outlast V8's cause you don't beat on them as much I would assume. I've had inline's for 25 years now and have not always treated them right and they keep going. You always here stories guys buying parts vehicles and trying to blow up their inline 6's but they keep going. 194-230-250-292 share parts with small block's so you can do a lot to them. You should see the reaction from people when you light up the tires with "just a 6". Clifford Performance logo " 6=8 "

well at this point in time my daily driver is a 1998 ford contour with 117253 miles on it, that was gifted to me by my mother. i had an offer to trade it for a 1979 ford f100 shortbed with no rust and all original. 2wd auto trans. does anyone think i should go through with that deal?
