keys locked in 2000 again.

the keys have automatically locked insdie this 2000 project truck so many times already , that now even the extra keys are locked in, (don't ask) . I have every type of slim jim known to man hee , but can't get the doors unlocked.. I never close the windows all the way, but SOMEONE in the family did as a good samartin gesture.

I never understood this because the truck does not even have power windows/locks.

First question, any suggestions on opening the door with slim jim?
Second, how do i disconnect this horrible feature?.

thanx , crossy

Re: keys locked in 2000 again.

you need a tool that goes down below the window and comes up on the other side, then use the end to unlock the door. You can make one out of a good STIFF piece of wire (not a coat hanger)...make it look like this:

something that can push the unlock button is all you need (unless you don't have power door locks)

Bus Ted is that flat area to actually reach the lock on the door panel?

No power locks

Re: keys locked in 2000 again.

If you can prove you own the truck (title??), take your VIN to the dealership and they should be able to cut a new key for you.

Go between the window and the weather stripping, push your tool down into the door. Turn it slightly and then poke it up between the window and the door panel on the inside. It will take some jiggling and shaking, but it can be done.

Maybe you should go see the dealer.
