fuel injection

Is anyone running the edlebrock injection and or the accel injection systems ? I can't make up my mind which one would be better ! I read an article in a chevy magazine over the weekend and it sounds like the accel unit is a great unit for torque & fuel economy. Any comments ??? Thanx

I'VE CHECKED INTO THOSE 2 SYSTEMS AS WELL. I DO KNOW THAT THE EDELBROCK COMES WITH A HAND HELD THINGY THAT LETS YOU CHANGE VALUES WHERE AS THE ACCEL UNIT REQUIRES A LAP TOP. SO IF YOU DON'T HAVE A LAP TOP YOUR EFI COULD COULD COST YOU $2000 PLUS THE PRICE OF A LAP TOP, OR YOU COULD DRAG THE DESK TOP OUTSIDE TO THE TRUCK. MY WIFE WOULDN'T APPRECIATE THAT GOOD LUCK IN YOUR DECISION.

I know I would be dragging this desktop outside if I were to do that!

OH,i see . do you realize that if you get about 20% better gas milage with the fuel injection that considering it's going to cost about $2000 you'll break even at about 125,000 miles? i went from 9-10mpg to 15-16 with overdrive and gears and probably the best money spent was a K&n air filter that was worth 1.5mpg alone!!!

Lightbulb

I JUST BOUGHT ONE OF THE HOLLY PRO-JECTION STAND ALONE FUEL INJECTION SYSTEMS. IT'S FOR MY ONGOING PROJECT SO I PROBABLY WON'T GET THE MOTOR IN & INSTALLED FOR A COUPLE OF MONTHS. IT LOOKS PRETTY SIMPLE THOUGH.I BOUGHT THIS SYSTEM USED FROM A GUY HERE LOCAL THAT HAD IT ON A 72 BURB WITH A BIG BLOCK. IT'S A SMALL THROTTLE BODY & ONLY RATED FOR 275 HORSE, & DIDN'T GIVE HIM THE PERFORMANCE HE WAS LOOKING TO GET OUT OF THE 454. I'M PUTTING IT ON A SMALL BLOCK CRATE MOTOR, & LOOKING TOWORDS ECONOMY. NO LAPTOPS INVOLVED.

(& I PAID $400 FOR IT SO I NEED TO SAVE 200 GALLONS OF GAS TO BREAK EVEN ON IT) (I ALREADY HAVE A K&N FILTER, 700R4 TRANNY & A 3.00-1 NINE INCH REAR END FOR IT) I'M LOOKING TO GET 20 MPG OR BETTER OUT OF A 72 SHORT FLEET CHEYENNE THAT ABOUT AS ARODYNAMIC AS A BRICK.
