Re: Nice Driver Quality 67 68 Guage bezel with Guages
Can you take some pictures of the back? Is the printed circuit in good shape? Any scratches on the lense? Thanks

Thanks for the extra pictures. If there is no rust on any of the gauge faces I'll take it.

Re: Nice Driver Quality 67 68 Guage bezel with Guages
Hey, I got the gauge cluster in the mail but it is completely smashed. The box was still sealed but there was very little packing material in the box so it just bounced around in the box. Also the printed circuit is in poor shape, damaged and repaired poorly. Here are some pictures. You can see that the odometer matches the one you posted above. Please contact me so we can figure out how to make this right. This gauge cluster is useless now.
Also, you were very misleading in your post, this is far from "nice driver quality". The gray paint is badly chipped, there are holes drilled in the side of it, and the gauges are rusty... Last edited by mahanian; 07-06-2009 at 10:12 PM. |

Re: Nice Driver Quality 67 68 Guage bezel with Guages
I trust all will be resolved. Packing material is key in shipping...but even when packing is used items can be damaged as it seems shippers just don't take care in handling merchandise. Thats why I insure everything...but even then its like pulling teeth when turing in a claim and trying to recoup losses.

As far as misleading, I beg to differ. Driver quality is just that. It works to use in a driver. It did look decent in the pics above, and looks like the circuit etc got tore up in shipping. Either way, I wish you the best and hope you chose to add insurance in your deal. |

Re: Nice Driver Quality 67 68 Guage bezel with Guages
The item was advertised as "$40 shipped", so I didn't bargain for insurance. I will take a picture of the packing material tonight, if you had opened the box and seen what I had you'd feel the same way. There has to be a point where you can expect the seller to at least properly package the item for sale. No precautions were taken to prevent this
The printed circuit was not damaged in shipping, it has had a poor repair job as I stated before. Look at the black soldering goo in the second to last picture. That is all over the circuit. The copper is also severed in several locations. I specifically asked about the printed circuit and he said it was good. I feel that is misleading. The pictures the seller posted above are misleading because the flash washed out the scratches and damage. There are holes drilled in the side of it, that is not "nice driver quality" to me. Re: Nice Driver Quality 67 68 Guage bezel with Guages
This is a tough one to call. On one hand, I agree that the seller should be expected to properly package items and on the other hand, you could have asked for insurance. I'm not siding either way. Hopefully you guys can reach an agreement.
Liz- this transaction makes me think in the official sellers rules, that we could include wording like "unless stated in ad, buyer assumes item is shipped WITHOUT insurance". It's buyer's responsibility to request insurance". Something to that effect??? Just a thought, since this site is always evolving for the better ![]()

That does suck, I believe it's always a good idea to insure anything breakable no matter the cost of the part. Even if it's a hassle to get them to pay up at least no one is out their hard earned monney. JMO. I'm sure everthing will work out.

I agree with Liz, try to fix this through PM's first....Talk nice and let the seller know what you problems are and go from there....Only bring it out in public as a last resort, and after talking to Liz or Josh and see where they advise you to take it from there....JMO....Good luck! |

I understand it's buyer beware but I've sold 3 tach instrument panels on here and not one of them arrived damaged.
I have not been rude or insulting, I've only stated the facts thus far. I will PM the seller right now and try and reach a resolution. |

Re: Nice Driver Quality 67 68 Guage bezel with Guages
Wow, I'm a bit peeved that you didn't come to me about this before posting on the board. I'm a reasonable guy and would have been happy to work with you on making this "right" in your eyes. I would be upset if I paid for something and it was destroyed in the mail, so I can see where you're coming from there. It was my impression that decision for insurance was made by the buyer. I sold you a part for $40 shipped and spent, what, $14 to ship it? I don't think I should be responsible to also pay for insurance when you didn't request it. I thought my packing job was decent, and comparable to how packages I've received were packed.
I didn't intentionally misrepresent anything though, and I think my description was accurate. Regardless, that's something that should have been discussed via PM. ![]()

WOW...if mahanian did not pm you first to come up with a solution agreable to both sides...then that is bad form. I agree that the 1st aproach to disagreaments are through pm's and then and only then should it be put in the public forums if a solution isn't found. (Per LIZ previous post:Have you PMd the seller with your concerns and a link to this post?) Ok mahanian...the question I is the sama LIZ asked...did you pm jbristo67 1st explaining you concerns and asking for some sort of resolution to you concerns?

Re: Nice Driver Quality 67 68 Guage bezel with Guages
I didn't bad mouth the seller in any way, I just stated the facts. I can't post pictures in PMs, so why would I go that route? Even if the part had arrived undamaged it still would not have worked properly because all the broken strands in the printed circuit board.
I don't know how many of you have ever filed an insurance claim with the post office but I guarantee they would have rejected the insurance claim based on how poorly it was packed. I know this from experience!! You spent $10 to ship it to me and I will gladly spend the same amount to ship it back to you for a full refund. If there was any attempt to package the part to prevent any damage then I would not be upset, but there was not... Last edited by mahanian; 07-09-2009 at 10:21 AM. |
