Question Coolflex Rad Hose Question?

Hi to all, I've just about lost my marbles with replacing my lower rad hose (cannot find a replacement)!!!! So I'm going to get a "Coolflex Rad Hose Kit" (kinda like them anyway). Does anyone have this on there truck? (pics. and or comments would be great) And also I have to replace my "Hazard Light Knob" on my steering column and it is square (red in colour) but all the vendors sell are the black round ones??? Could it be a previous owner installed the red one or did some of our trucks come with red ones??? Thanks for your time, Doug (steering column is non tilt, non cruise control, and non automatic)

The red hazard knob hasn't been available from GM for many years, the black one is the replacement. I know I have seen original replacement lower(and upper) hoses listed for our trucks. I just can't remember where, and don't have the time to dig right now. Have you tryed the parts suppliers listed on the home page of this boards sponser?? If you can't find one, I'll try later when I get some time. I wanted to keep the site for my future ref also, and it's maddening that I didn't write it down at the time I saw it.

i don't know if the 69's are the same as 71-72 but the 71-72 hoses are readily available down here in any autoparts store

The lower hose is the same, and I have bought one from a local parts store chain myself too.
Although, when you get an upper hose, ask for a '73. The hose is straigher and looks nicer.

I found the source I mentioned earlier... It's Brothers Trucks. They list replacement hoses with the correct GM markings on them.... $16.00 each plus shipping.

Thanks for all the replies!!! I'm going to my wreckers and going to bring the "HAZARD KNOB" with me and match one up, (I think I remember some 73 and up columns might have the red ones also ???) Now I now why my upper hose is different and has less bends in it, it is a 73 and up hose. Thanks again, Doug
