1994 TBI 5.7/4L60E swap to a 1967-72 C-10?

I have recently purchased a low mileage 5.7 TBI motor from a freshly wrecked 1994 Blazer (1500) with all the accessories and the computer. I’d like to install this engine along with a 4L60E into a 67-72 truck. I think I have my head around most everything I’ll need (fuel, spark and cooling to start with) however, one thing that I’m stumped on is the speedometer and speed sensor in the transmission. My question is has anyone done this kind of swap and or know of a reliable source for this information?

I assume the tranny currently has an electrical output for the speedo. If it were mine I'd put a 5" electronic speedo and matching tach in it.

I do have an earlier 700R4 with the cable driven cable speedometer and I’m sure I could buy or build a TV cable bracket for it however I’m not sure what the computer uses that “speed” signal for. I guess I need to make myself smart on that first. If engine management and transmission management are separate, as with a manual transmission, then could I use the computer only to manage the TPI without the “speed” input?
