Question Engine Bay Color Question

Having my bodyshop guys paint the engine bay area the same color as what my truck will be. So my question is for those that have done this, do you also paint your raditor support the same color or leave it painted black?

Thanks.

Re: Engine Bay Color Question

I like a black rad suport so it looks dark behind and the grill will stands out better.

Re: Engine Bay Color Question

you could paint it body color, but I think flat or satin black would look the best on the front side of it, like willys47 says it looks best that way through the grill. is just your personal preference, I am going to body color entire engine compartment, but will have radiator support either satin or gloss black, I like the looks of it that way.

Okay now I am back on the fence!

Re: Engine Bay Color Question

Very nice Leo.

I can only hope mine will turn out as nice as yours and others that have posted.

Yeah my body shop guy is getting ready to pull my motor to prep it to paint it. And then black for the frame and suspension parts. So it should be a nice truck when done. Will try to post pics of the progress.

Thanks for all the feedback guys!

Re: Engine Bay Color Question

Boy...if I was doing a "show" quality truck I would do body color. I just spent a ton of time masking and painting my '68 grill to look stock so had to do both the black and white. With black inside the grill...I had to go with a black core support or it would have really looked funny. I did however do body color on the inner fenders, firewall, inside of the fenders and underside of the hood. I have a mix so it looks like an upgraded stock truck...no show truck though.
