Help! Installed NEW LMC throttle cable....now have issues.

So, the throttle cable just broke on my friends 71 K20 pictures of truck here: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=240484. I bought the cable. paid for fast shipping. $50 dollars later it's here. I just installed the new LMC replacement throttle cable. It binds badly at just off throttle to basically floored. It seems like plastic cover is to long, it's damn near impossible to drive. Is there an adjustment for the cable? do have have to modify the cable for the fuel holley fuel injection system on the truck? is the LMC part just crap? Any better options out there? thanks I really need to get this truck on the road ASAP. thanks for any input.

if you pull the cable loose and move it by hand is it tight or ruff to move? if so i would just call lmc , there pretty good about sending replacements, i think they know out of all the stuff that comes from across sea your goin to have some bad ones...i had probs with both my window reg. and they sent me new ones right away!!! good luck

Is it a GM cable? If not I would buy a GM one. They are a little long too, but I think that they need to be so that when the engine torques that it doesn't pull on the cable. WES

it's easy to move when not mounted to the bracket.

so it moves free when not in the braket...so when its hook to the gas pedal and you have it out of the braket you can move it freely and hear it movin the gas pedal...then when you put it in the carb braket it starts to bind up...is that right?

Well, I just cut an inch out of the sheathing that covers the cable between the firewall mount and carb bracket and put it back together. it seems to be working fine now.
