nothing but air

Any ideas? I changed all my brake lines and master upgraded to disc I have not been able to get all the air out of the lines I bench bled the master and the prop valve adjusted the pedal rod to both inner and outer extremes is there a sweet spot or spec for the pedal Im using an air bleeder and still the pedal goes to the floor thanks Tony

Just keep an eye on it and gravity bleed them.

When your bleeding the brakes move the pedel slow. Just keep bleeding it. It will get there. I started with the pedel rod on the short side and kept adjusting it longer till I got it where I wanted it. Do you have a leak thats letting air back in?

How do I know if I have an air leak? I did check all my lines and connections for fluid leaks

When we did my 89 Van. GM asks that you wait 13 seconds between pumps and that it should be one single pump and hold, bleed. We did this for two days. Then we pressure bled the system and got pedal. Next day no pedal. There was the most insignificant leak coming from the front connection on the master. We redid the double flare got it to seal. Got pedal. Gravity Bleed the system and see what happens.

What everybody else said and....

Make sure the pedal rod is not adjusted in too far, there should be a small gap when the pedal is returned, else the fluid can't return to the resevoir.

I had a bad caliper once that kept letting air in. Replaced it and immediately had full pedal after a short bleed.

Going from manual to power brakes I had to lower the connection to the pedal by one inch (drill new hole) to get the correct stroke and get the brakes to bleed correctly.

Gravity bleed. Just connect tube from bleed valve to a can, open the valve and let gravity pull the fluid through. It is slow but you just have to keep check and keep the resevoir full.

Usualy if air is getting in fluid is getting out. Did you have good flow while bench bleeding? If the master is bypassing you get no pedal. On some trucks you got to move the pedal slow. Some got to be running. Some you have to use half strokes. You got any pics of the master, valve, ect. It might help us help you if we could see the system.

if you have a vacuum gun you can pull the fluid through.. if you have a harbor freight or northern tool you can get a vacuum gun. he he he

I'm not a brake expert....but have you pushed in the button on the prop to let the fluid thru? I was told this released the bias for bleeding. Dont know for a fact or not.

The bleeder screws have to be at the top. If you have the calipers reversed (i.e. on the wrong side) the caliper bleeders will not be at the high point and you will never get the air out. Ask me how I know
