Wheel Poll

I was working on cleaning up some old hubcaps for my 71 blazer today and I realized I don't think I've seen a picture of a truck with the stock caps. So I thought I'd do a poll.

IMHO, if it's a pure stock resto or untouched the wheel covers or caps. Any mods at all ralley wheels for a good look and cheap or a nice set of aftermarketif you got the $$$

My GMC came with 4 hubcaps, they look exactly like the ones in this pic except they are chrome not white. The two front ones have cutouts for the hubs, and one of the back ones is a Chevy with a GMC logo screwed onto it. The back 2 look decent but the front 2 are pretty beaten up.

I don't know if they are original or not, but I voted original hubcaps.

My '66 has the original sttel wheels and painted center caps.

My '72 has a set of 15x7 "van" Ralleys that I painted white to go with the white cab top.

My '67 is outfitted with a set of Vision wheels. (see below)

1969GMC,

I think I've seen some of those front ones someplace. Not sure if it was on ebay or at the local hubcap heaven. You want to replace them?

Truckstr,

I like those alloys!

And a question for everyone. What year did Chevy change from blue logos on the hubcaps to yellow?

Thanks, I'll have them on the market before long. I'm going from 6 lug to 5 lug (disc brakes of of a '72).

Sorry, I don't know about the logo change. I think that there was a recent thread on that though. Ya might do a search.

Jeff

17x8 front and rear (9.5's would have been nice but there's no way they'd fit)

Thumbs up

I'm going with chromed Aluminum, because wheels are light for better mileage and more power and with chrome for easier cleaning, but pricy about $240 ea. That is after the truck is restored.Wheels will be the last thing.

what is the point of "rebuilding" without adding your own touch. these are the ones that i'm putting on mine when i'm done, which won't be for a while. customizing, i think, is what makes this hobby so fun. i'm not knocking the people that want to stay stock and original, but to add the small stuff that the factory did't add like the custom colors, rims, and some of the creature comforts like power windows and locks, it makes a difference. just my $.02 worth
