Installed New Short Bumper Guards on SWB 4x4.

I kind of like the short guards on a short truck. They remind me of 56 Chevy.
They are a real easy install with NO holes to drill in your chrome...like the NOS ones require.
I did tap the bottom threads for longer 1/2" bolts. They seem to be metric and the bolts are a little too short for me.
They fit pretty close if you are not one of those guys that checks everything with a mic or feeler gauge.
What do you think?
Please ignore the loose "farm animals? LOL

Re: Installed New Short Bumper Guards on SWB 4x4.

They sure look great!!

I`m not the guy who checks with a mic,but I let things bother me like wrong year part on wrong year truck. But,in a great effort to open my mind a creak or two I have come to accept these earlier guards on the later trucks.Heck, they are accessories anyway, not factory.A guy could go to the parts counter in`71 and the`70s could be what was pulled from the shelf.I really like the correct ones on a 71/72 4wd Chevy. They even look good on a 69/70.But,on a GMC the later guards compete with the grille.I have the 67-70 guards for my`72 K2500.I`m still not sure if I`ll install them or not.

Those look great! I also like the 71-72 tall gaurds with the rubber inserts, but I don't think you can go wrong with either style.

Re: Installed New Short Bumper Guards on SWB 4x4.

I get them from ME! I stock a few pairs.
Maybe we need to move this to the Parts Board now...
Hart Rob & tcb-1: My price for the short ones is $110 pr + $10 S/H.
I also have the repro tall guards for $55pr + $10 S/H.
You can compare at LMC & I will take PayPal.
