Door Alignment!!

Hey guys I am hanging my doors starting with the pass side and have pretty good size gaps. I had to put in lower patch panels on the doors it looks like the bottom door hinge bracket is hitting the new panel not letting it move back all the way any help would be appreciated. And also i put my striker on and what is weird is my door gaps are off but I can let my door go and it go in the striker smooth as silk without force. But when the door locks I can pull on it and it has some play like it is not locking in all the way any adjustments for this?

Re: Door Alignment!!

preferred way is to adjust door with fender off for bolt access. leave striker off and do the door first. then adjust the striker to the door. when doing the striker you should have 2 "clicks" about 1/8" before the door skin matches with cab "B" pillar skin.

Re: Door Alignment!!

I can see you have two problems. The door isn't high enough and the door is too far forward also. Not high enough could solve your rubbing on the bottom of the door. And being to far forward might improve the striker plate. Not engaging the 2nd click could also improve if not it will require the striker assy to be adjusted out. You will need to correct that but after you replace the door seals you will be slamming your doors to secure them. Which is rough on your doors and the windows. You may end up using some shims. I've seen some doors with serious lower door gaps at the bottom and fit fine half way up the door. Good luck.

Re: Door Alignment!!

Do you have any adjustment left in the hinges where they bolt to the door pillar? Looks like to me that you should loosen those bolts and pull the door strait back. Then loosen the door latch striker on the "B" piller and move it strait out about 1/16" or so. WES
