Suspension question

I am about to buy a 99+ and was wondering if any of the 1500's were coil sprung or if they were all leafs?

Re: Suspension question

Kelly I don't think coil rears were available after 72 on any half tons. They sure do ride better than leafs though.
So you may have found the right truck?

Re: Suspension question

I agree...they sure launch better as well. Nothing worse than having the hood come up instead of the rear of the truck...

I love that red shortbed stepper I found in Tyler. I doubt I'll get to it before anyone else does....but it's nice.

Tahoe's and 1500 Suburbans use coil springs... not sure about the trucks.

Re: Suspension question

I think the Quadra steers in those years had independant rear suspension due to the rear stear feature. I beileve everything else was coil fronts and leaf rears.

Re: Suspension question

Bummer....I love coils and trailing arms. Guess I'll have to locate some traction accessories after getting the 'new' truck.

Right now it might not be much of an issue...got no bites on the truck.

No they had a rear D60

All trucks have rear leafs, tahoes and suburbans mostly have rear coils

With a 2wd IFS coil setup up front and the 4wd torsion bar setup.
