The cylinder is easy to place. You just disconnect the brake line and take the bolts out from the back side of the axel plate. Replace all the springs on both sides. A kit with new springs and other small items is available for about $5.00. Use some good brake cleaner to clean off the grim and dust. Use a small priming pump to bleed the brake.

guys why can't CT be mentioned by it's real name here?
90% of the questions posted here get also double posted over there, but still nobody's supposed to talk about the site? It just seems to me like a bit childish or something, but maybe i'm missing out something. -Axle

Thanks Jeff for clearing that out. I was there when it happened but i didn't think it would have such profound effect at that time, especially even with reading all the posts back then i couldn't figure out what had really happened behind the scene.
Well now that i'm up to date, sorry for hijacking this thread and i won't bring the subject up again. Thanks, -Axle

CT????
Sorry I said that but I had to. I asked a question one time about a block for my truck to replace the #$%*& 305. I wanted to know how I could get a block made in USA as opposed to mexican junk and was blasted by the "moderator" for that. He thought (?) it was off-topic. I will never go back there and have a good collection of virus-type files to bomb them with but I can't do that in case some of the good people from this board get some use out of it. |

You know drum brakes, those round often rusted things on the ends of an axle, which have nothing to do with efficient braking or an internet message board?
Just kidding here Jon, it's all good and well with me. Cheers, -Axle

If your old wheel cylinders were leaking, don't reuse the old shoes. Get a new set of shoes. While your at it check out the condition of the old spring set. They can get pretty weak (and rusty) over the years. This would also be a good time to check out the E-Brake cables.
