??? about drop...
OK, I have 2" drop springs in the front and a 2" block in the rear. If I add 2" spings to the rear, will the truck be level?

Re: ??? about drop...
Don't know if this will help. But from the factory on a c10 there is 2" difference from front to back I believe. Hope this helps.

Re: ??? about drop...
31" from highest point in front fender well to ground and 34" in rear fender to ground was stock according to the LMC catalog. Take your measurements and see if it'll work for you...

Re: ??? about drop...
Sounds like an SAT math question. You need to measure front and rear ride height and determine for yourself as every truck can be slightly different from factory specs, especially after all these years.

Re: ??? about drop...
Exactly. You need to judge for yourself what your truck needs. They are all a little different. Just park it somewhere and walk a ways away from it and stare at it awhile to decide for yourself.

Re: ??? about drop...
FYI:
I have a 68 Longbed/Fleetside (Added weight I suppose on rear) with a 250 Inline 6 (Lighter than 350?) I purchased 2" Drop Spindles for the front and replaced the original springs with factory stock size. Out rear with coils I purchased/installed 4" Drop Springs with shorter shocks. Without a tailgate and load I set about 1/2" to 3/4" high in the rear. Hope this makes sense Last edited by SpeedTriple; 07-16-2009 at 05:45 PM. |

I don't doubt that LMC prints that kind of info...but those measurements are useless unless the vehicles being compared have the same size tires/wheels with identical air pressure. |

Re: ??? about drop...
A 2/4 drop looks good. It may not be exactly level, but it's close.
I recommend getting 4" springs and doing away with the blocks altogether. If you ever decide to do something else later, 2" drop springs are hard to get rid of.

I agree with 68Stepbed also, but for different reasons. I would have installed 4" rear springs first, then you would have the option to bring the rear down more with the blocks and it would be a little more accurate. Keep in mind that you will probably need to install at the verry least an adjustible pan hard bar too, to recenter your rear end. WES

Re: ??? about drop...
I did a dick move to the ole girl. I heated the fronts and put a 2inch block in the rear and then heated teh rear a tab. I only done this to see how I wanted the truck to sit. Well, I have recently installed 2inch fronts and the back in not what I like. Also, the back rides like crap. So, I am redoing everything the CORRECT way! Thanks everybody!!!! |
