Re: door problem
if the body line and gap is "good", the prob is in the bottom of the door or the rocker. If the door is "sagging" (body line droop or bad gap) the hinges are worn (likely) or out of adjustment.
edited-I missed the rocker replament- you hay have to 'adjust' where the door is touching with a light tap,(I use a big rubber mallet for this) to the rocker or door bottom after the door is adjusted and the hinge condition is verified. HTH! Last edited by chuckmc8; 07-20-2009 at 06:17 AM. |

Re: door problem
Probably the rockers are installed too high, you may be able to tap it/them down with a 2"x4" and a big hammer.
Do not grind the door edge, maybe try to adjust the door(s) up a bit if the top allows. Good luck.

Re: door problem
Oh oh, the old "welded it all up without checking thing.
I'd first check the door gaps all around the door and the hinges to make sure that the doors aren't sagging. The old rockers may have been worn to the point where you didn't notice the doors sagging or the door may (hopefully) just be out of adjustment and need to be raised up a tad. Stand back a few feet and see if all of the door gaps are even and the same and if the gap at the top is the right width and even before doing anything to the sill or door. If you haven't already you can check the pins in the hinges by lifting up on the door with it open to see if you have noticeable movement in the hinges. Re: door problem
If it is the lip of the door, you can grind it down. However, you will likely grind through the door skin and have to weld the edge of the door to stabilize it. This is not an easy fix, but it can be done. If it is the bottom of the inner door making contact, I would use the block of wood and bfh to adjust that.

Re: door problem
You are not alone, I have the exact same problem. PO installed new rockers. I was hoping I wouldn't have to resort to the ol' BFH, but I have tried adjusting everything else, And that seems to be the only fix at this point. Sorry I can't give you a magic solution. Just hammer a little at a time.
