New from Tennessee
While I was looking through images of things to do with my truck, this site kept coming to my attention, and the more and more I looked, the more appeal it had. Looks like I've found a good group to call "home" =)
Anyway, My name's Trae and I'm a college student in West TN, born and raised. Speaking of born and raised, my truck is a '72 C10 SWB that was bought a'lil after new by my great grandaddy who has since passed. He passed it down to his son, my grandfather, then it was passed to my father, who has now passed it down to me. Factory, it was shipped with the 250 I-6 and 3 on the tree. That drivetrain was tired by the time dad got his hands on it and he swapped in a mild 454 BB and built TH350, also adding things like true duals, sliding rear glass, and late model seats through the years. I've got memories of that truck taking me to grade school and day care, pulling stumps and limbs from trees, catching second gear under bridges and overpasses. It's apart of my childhood that cannot be replaced. Long story short, I chose a '94 Camaro Z28 over that truck as my first driver at 16 y/o due to the 454 being sold out of it and being offered a base 290 horse 350 to replace it. Now that its my $$$$ thats going into it, I am building it into what I wanted back then... a clean, fast, reliable truck that holds something more with it; memories. I've got a long... LONG way to go before it's even close to perfect, but its getting close to seeing the road again for the first time since mid-2004. What it's got going for it now is: *built 355c.i. 4 bolt (531 horse) *12.5:1 dome tops *steel crank *DART Eagle Iron heads *7 quart pan *Victor JR intake *750 Barry Grant *Full mechanical roller *dynoMAX headers *TCI 10" Break-A-Way II converter Like I said, for now my goal is to get it back on the road before the summer ends. I'm real excited about how well it's coming together so far. Besides, it's so much easier to work on than that Camaro. Lol. I want to thank you for the welcoming site and friendly atmosphere here. Nothing else like it. Good luck on ya'lls projects! -Trae |

Re: New from Tennessee
Thanks for the support. Got it cranked tonight after getting the correct water pump. Nothing like the sound of open headers on a cammed small block! =D
