What gear ratios were offered in 71/72?
I just dragged a 71 or 72 swb 4wd frame home (has disc brakes) and have a few questions, the front is a dana 44?? and the rear is a 12 bolt. I pulled the rear cover to try and check the ratio, but cant see the pinion clear enough to count the teeth. Also, being new to the 4x4 game, did the dana44 come factory in these trucks? Thanks!

Yes,it`s a Dana44 up front. The ratio numbers will be stamped into the ring gear.Get those numbers and post them. The ratios are 3.08,3.73,and 4.10.
That`s a good find there.Congratulations.
