I picked up a set of front and back chrome bumpers and early cab sails this weekend. It looks a ton better already. It'll look even better when I go back and get the '60 chrome chevy grill for $70.

I'm getting closer to paint. I found a good driver door and will be patching the passenger door. I also picked up the "above the windshield" patch panel. I also got a new windshield out of a cab and front clip I stripped. Another buddy is giving me a good set of fenders in trade for some other parts. I've just got to weld in the windshield panel and the inner and outer lower patch panels on the passenger door and I'm pretty much good to go for paint. I feel like I've got a much larger color selection now that I don't have to worry about painting the bumpers and grill. Some colors I'm considering can end up looking street roddish or clown carish with the bumper and grill the same color.

I had asked this question before ("above the windshield" patch panel coverage) and another couple of folks told me to let them know if I got one. Well, I got one. It goes seam to seam and extends up and out including the front rain gutter. It has a hole drilled in each outer corner, although I don't know why. But otherwise, it seems like a good patch panel.

I paid $65 from my local chevy truck parts guy, Wayne at Dixie Truck Works. They have a web site, but it's primitive and doesn't list everything. It's better to give them a call if you're looking for something. They ship and are good people to deal with. They're right down the road from me so I didn't have to pay any shipping. But, where ever he gets them from is way cheaper than the one LMC has for $100.

I'm going to pick up the grill tomorrow. I've gotta knock out one ding and cut out the center bars (they're bent up). When I get that mounted, I'll need my shades to look at the front of the truck, lol.

I'll get some for you tomorrow. It looks like a quality piece though. I especially like that it includes the drip rail. Mine had holes all the way to the drip rail on the underside.
