Dont kill me for asking...
I hang mostly in the 60-66 area, and some in the 48-59 too. But...
I have a buddy who has been offered this 70 GMC jimmy on trade for his old truck. Supposed to be fresh paint, new windshield, bagged up front, 20 and 22 wheels. Whats fair value on one of these? Closest Ive been myself was a lowered 69 Burb. I appreciate the help.

Re: Dont kill me for asking...
Nice looking convertible.Let`s just say a 2wd jimmy or blazer is very high on the 67-72 value scale.`70 was the first year for Jimmys. It needs to be on an original 2wd frame and not a converted 4wd to be the rare bird that a 2wd is.Numbers were very low. You`ll pay more for a 2wd k/5 project than any other truck. The desirable factors is as high as it gets, too. So,they are worth good money for sure,in any form.i`d have to see it in the flesh to give any accurate value. It sure appears to be a nice one.My only beef is the front fenders are 69-72 Chevy. They wasted their time painting a fender that will never work with a GMC grille. The only solution without paint work would be swap out the core suppoert and grille to 69-72 Chevy.
As far as a trade value,we could help you better if we at least saw the other truck. And,a description of goodies on both would help. That jimmy is definately some good trade fodder.

Re: Dont kill me for asking...
I don't know about this one there are a few things that I would watch out for by looking at the pics. The drivers side qtr jumps out at me the fender will need to be replaced and a correct year GMC fender put back on and painted to match as well as the eyebrow trim bought and painted. Have him check the frame as well you don't know if it was hit and junk yard parts put on real fast or what the story is. Make sure to check the windshield frame and give it a real good magnet test. Without seeing the other this one is hard for me to say either way

Re: Dont kill me for asking...
If it really is as nice as the pic shows, it would be at least 10-12,000 and could be as high as 18,000. It all depends on the overall quality of the work, the interior, the engine and tranny, etc.

Re: Dont kill me for asking...
Great looking truck. However, looks like a quicky cosmetic restification. Body fit is poor and gaps are off. Missing trim, Would have to see it in person to confirm. Any bondo over rust? What type of paint was used? One Day Paint & Body, Earl Sheib or custom shop? Also, how was it lowered? Cut springs or torched? Was it notched? Was it welded up? Does not look like the work of a perfectionist. I would be skeptical and really examine every inch of it.

That truck was listed on mautofied.com for $9k, but it is marked sold. so that might give you a ballpark on the value

Re: Dont kill me for asking...
Thanks guys. I think my buddy is going to pass on it.
The guy was offering that Jimmy up on straight trade for a 51 Ford F1 truck with a sbc/5spd, 9" rear, notched etc. My buddy isnt into newer stuff(as he puts it). He's stuck on 1928-40 Hotrods mainly. Thanks again for your input and opinions.
