Re: The Unthinkable...

As always I appreciate the words of support. Decisions like this are really hard for us passionate owners for sure. I'm not going to whine or make excuses. As temporary as a sale might be, I feel it might be the only thing to do right now. I know what I have and what I need and just have to go about it the way any man would. Thanks guys.

Likewise. This is just a hiccup. I still want that 73 2WD Blazer that we were drooling over at the show. Wouldn't you know they are a bit rare, especially with only one bullet hole in the drivers door?

Re: The Unthinkable...

Sell it. You could probably get enough to put some money in the bank and get another cheap project truck. Good luck and I feel your pain!!

Re: The Unthinkable...

I've had to do it twice already. Now I've got such a piece of crap no one would want it if I chose to sell it.

Special K......

Come on Bro.....you kinda took what I said out of context. Wasn't the majority of my post about family and how they come first? I guess it was STUPID to make that comparison on a "truck" forum!!! lol

This probably would have gone over better on Team Camaro, which is a forum I've been on for years. If it makes things any better, the M-22 that is in my truck actually came out of my 68 BBC car. I decided to keep the shorty and sell the Camaro........so there!

No hard feelings here and I hope all is good with you.You had good words to offer about priorities.I just get tired of the it`s only a truck,as compared to a muscle car.In his situation I`d sell either.I sold my perfect`63 Riviera 455 dual quad when a builder beat me out of big bucks and went bankrupt.I sold my`70 pro-street Stepside, too. It was 99% done and I finished it just to sell.Barely even drove the thing after a total show quality build...argh!!!
But,not everyone values a Camaro over a truck and I`m one.Figure, back in 67-72 there were those who bought BBC posi bucket seat tach trucks rather than a Camaro because that`s what they wanted. They weren`t work trucks and they didn`t buy them because they couldn`t afford a Camaro. That`s all I`m saying.

I wish I had the money to buy this truck.I`d sell it back when things got better.Don`t you wish in times like this you had a family member to do that? That sure would be nice..

Re: The Unthinkable...

Hey like everyone else I say family has to come first, however you may have some options. Sell the wifes Tahoe (even if the payoff is less, between reg. and insurance you would probably save more in the long run) use the money from the parts your selling on the parts forum to get the A/C running in the 72, then hand the keys to your wife. Then go out and buy a beater for $500-800. When times get better you can go straight to the dealer a buy her whatever she wants.

Now this is providing you have an understanding wife and you could get away with seating 3 in the 72 (just may have to follow your family in your beater when you guys go out). Just an option. I know the pride you have in your truck and would hate to see it get away from you. But we all have to do what we have to for our families (I may have to sell all my rides just to put my three kids through college).

BTW your trucks ugly brother wouldn't mind if he lived at my house for awhile! Good luck

Re: The Unthinkable...

I hope the best for you in what ever you decide, its a awsome looking truck, I"m in the same boat, but mine is worth only semintal value, probalby get more in parting it out, but wouldn't help much.

good luck
