Re: quick question

more than likely if your blinkers are working then you dont have a ground issue....... without going out to look at my own truck i would say you have a problem with the headlight switch, or possibly a blown fuse...

Re: quick question

Hmm, I have a '67, and mine don't come on with headlights. Mine are blinkers only, they come on without headlights on, but headlights on and parklights off. I always ran their hot wire to a hot wire on the headlight. My guess would yours are either like mine or there's a ground off, but if they are on with the parklights only then yours may be like mine. I don't know what wires you took off, did you miss something if you took some wires off? Some cars don't use them with headlights, and some do.

Re: quick question

On some older vehicles the park or running lights go out when the headlights come on. It's one or the other, either the park lights are on, or the headlights are. This is more common to vehicles with 6 volt electrical systems, but I'm not sure when it was done away with.

Re: quick question

begining in 68, the parking lights were required per federal DOT to stay on with the headlights.

on to the original question.... what exactly are you trying to do, you said your blinkers work fine... but you want them to come on with the headlights....
is 'THEM' talking about parking lights... or turn signals?

Re: quick question

for what it's worth the side lights (Fender/bedside) come on with my headlights and stay on all the time. If I pull the switch to the first spot those lights come on and if I pull it all the way they still stay on. If I turn the turn signals on the respective light from whichever side will blink accordingly including the bumper lights.
