Gen II power steering pump on original steering box

Has anyone used a GM Gen II Power steering (remote reservoir) pump on an original 67-72 steering box, are the pressures the same to do so without turning the pump into a sprinkler system?

Well I have an 96' LT1 with the factory Camaro pump (and remote reservoir) plumbed to my factory 72' C10 box. It is my DD and it hasnt blow up yet! LOL Hope this helps, you can check out my build thread for pics, etc
