Re: frame rail pics

I notice from your build thread you think your frame is bent. Have you cross measured it ? What part do you think is bent ? Do you have any friends who work in a body shop ? Will help what I can. James.

so we called up another shop and a guy is coming over tomorrow to look.

thanks for your replys i was just seeing how far out my frame was and its pretty tweaked one rail is slightly pushed back and twisted the other is twisted and bent.

Re: frame rail pics

It's hard to second guess what someone is doing on his project but my question is why didn't you hunt down another frame when you discovered that yours was bent?

Although 500 doesn't sound too bad for having it put on a frame machine and having it put back right. I wouldn't do any modifications until I got it back though as getting it squared away may change the position of where the C knotch goes or other the alignment of other pieces.

A quick check for square with a tape measure on matching points on the four corners will tell you if it is out of square.

Re: frame rail pics

un fortunately i already welded my c notches in but they shouldnt b too far off i measured from points on the frame for the right axle placement.

and as for getting a new frame ive looked and swb frames in my area are few and far between. (watch ill find one on CL after i post this lol)

thanks for your input i appreciate ur opinions as alot of what u guys have to say i wouldnt think of.

thanks!!

Re: frame rail pics

If the quote of 400 to 500 dollars included setup & measuring it with a digital measuring system then that's not to bad. Frame rate in my area is $65.00 per. hour, yours is probably more. Can you point out the area that is the problem ? If it is on the very front it should be easy to fix, if it is in the center right in front of the cab mount close to the front shock mount it will be harder to straighten & make it look perfect (the last picture where the broom is setting). You might check with KrazyRay if you are looking to replace it, sounds like he might have a few. James

Re: frame rail pics

James im talking with a friend who has a shop hes gonna try to get his frame guy to do it on the side for me which should bring that quote down tremendously.
i will prob kno tomorrow and its bent and twisted at the front and middle but the guy seems optimistic about it.

Josh

Re: frame rail pics

I hope all goes well, and he is able to fix it for you. Look on the bright side at least you noticed it was bent prior to painting or powder coating it. James
