Re: New Guy - whatcha think?

Trade this : I had it sold for $1000 (the axles are worth that) but the guy had to have heart surgey. Poor dude. No engine, trans, t-case.

Re: New Guy - whatcha think?

I'd say go for it...the 402 is desireable....and to trade a running truck for a truck with no tranny or engine sounds like a no-brainer to me

Re: New Guy - whatcha think?

What makes the 402 desirable vs. 454?

And yeah, runner vs. shell is no brainer except I'm mainly a kinda hardcore 4x4 guy and the 1 ton front end (dana 60) is worth a few hundo.

I'll prolly do the swap though.

Re: New Guy - whatcha think?

Well, vs the I6, 327, or 350 that were the other options, a 402 is desireable.

It's worth more than a thousand though so I'd say that makes the swap worth it...

Re: New Guy - whatcha think?

A 402 is desirable because it was the top motor in this generation of trucks. 454 in trucks started 1973. Go for the trade!!
