Re: bulbs

I just tore mine apart today and found the fiber optic for the ashray just hanging in the back behind the cluster. All the bulbs were there? so I pulled the center low one and put it in there. There was a empty one over where the blank is but it doesnt work there anyway. They must put one in for the clock but leave empty if its blank. I painted the plastic piece white on the inside but not the cluster housing( not enought time). All new 168's and polished the lens and now where waiting for darkness to try them out. Should look great since half of them were burned out, even the heater one was done.

The 168's are brighter, but have a shorter life

194- 25 lumens / 2500 hrs.
168- 38 lumens / 1500 hrs.

Good to know, Thanks. But they're not too hard to replace.

No I used painters tape (very light tape adhesion) and spray painted the needles. For the White on the needles I again used spray paint that I sprayed into a dixie cup then used a #000 brush to hand paint the base of the needles with.

Re: bulbs

does anybody know where you can get that fiber optic light bulb holder. The previous idiot broke mine and I wanted to fix it so that the gas gauge was better lit. Thanks

Re: bulbs

The fiber optic cable doubles as the right most light in the cluster, and it takes part of that light down to the ash tray if i'm not mistaken.

Re: bulbs

how does it "hook" up at the ash tray?
I just pulled the socket with the fiber optic and put a regular socket there.

Re: bulbs

Yeah Joe when I pulled the cluster out of the truck at the yard I pulled the wire out of the socket, and put the socket back in. It had a clip thing that snapped on the back of the upper right socket I believe.
