air over leaf, what am I missing?
hi I have been reading around, and I have decided to air bag my truck, this will be my first air bag install, but I am familiar with the system (I work and drive in a big rig?, here is what I am trying to do, please feel free to let me know what I am missing.
1. up front 2.5 drop spindles and replace springs with cups and bags truck on 20's 2. in the rear, flip kit, leave only two leafs, add a 2 inch block to make it a little lower, add a bolt on notch, and do the air sleeve type bags from leafs to frame, now, I really dont care for having the ability to raise my height, but I would love to be able to drive almost having the axle on the frame with some air on the bags to have a good ride, since I have never had a p/u on air, do I have to install the bags right on the leaf or maybe higher or lower, I hope I am making sense, thanks in advance here is the victim truck |

Re: air over leaf, what am I missing?
Thse don't show the 2" block. Also I went with 3" spindles, and we set the bump stop so it will allow the tires to roll when completely aired out.

Re: air over leaf, what am I missing?
The ride is great. I don't have any pics that show the lift in the rear, but here's on of the front. I am able to run 70-80 PSI in front, and 50 in the rear.

Re: air over leaf, what am I missing?
It just depends on how low you want to go. I would "love" to be a couple inches (or three) lower, but I have no desire to cut a hole in the bed.

Quote:
did you meant 2'' block for the rear? also on one of the pics, I can see 3 leafs, is that how many you left on, or did you remove on more? not trying to copy you or anything but put it much, thats the stance I have decided would want to accomplish . for now |

Re: air over leaf, what am I missing?
Feel free to copy all you want. That's why I share the info, to help others. Yes, I have a 2" block in the rear (not shown) and 2 leaves in the pack.
Of course that is about to be changed to the A.R.T. system described in my sig.

Re: air over leaf, what am I missing?
Who says they are no longer needed? Just because they are no longer on "this" truck, doesn't necessarly mean they won't be used "somehwere"...
