Engine Stands On New Frame (pics)

I finally got a great deal on a good frame (thanks Mudder and Calvin!). It is a 71-72 with 5 lug disk brakes.



It also has one 3/4 ton trailing arm as is apparent by the brace attached. The other side does not have the brace and is bad. I already have a set of good 1/2 ton trailing arms so these will be getting replaced.

I have a couple questions. Can anyone tell by looking what engine stands these are, I6? V8? Small or big block?







Also, is there any way to tell if the brakes were power or non just by looking at the calipers or brake lines? And will it matter if they WERE power and I don't put them back that way but still use the parts that already on the frame?

I plan on sanding it an painting it and replacing all the relaceable parts as time and money allow. It looks like just went from wanting to drive the truck next May to whenever in the heck I can!

One more question...Are the radiator support mounts different on the 68 and the 71-72? If so, I can probably take them off my original frame and replace them onto this one?

Scott... that looks like a really nice frame!

As far as the power/manual system.... I might be wrong, but I think the components are the same regardless of the system. The booster only amplifies the pressure applied to the brakes themselves. It doesn't actually have anything to do with stopping the truck aside from the extra pressure applied. For instance, I could add a booster to my new setup on the '69 without any issues (aside from changing the air cleaner since I have a I6).

looks like small block stands to me
calipers and lines... doesn't matter if there was a boosterr there or not.
I have a 68 nose on my 72 frams, supports, and original 72 rubber bushings.

Scott,
Great score!! No getting-a-disc- brake-conversion for you!

1. the engine mounts appear to be for a small block.

2. shouldn't be a difference between power and non power front disc brake calipers. and I'm running front discs without a power booster. keeps thing tidy under the ol' bonnet.

3. can't give you any good insight on the radiator mounts. it's my .02 that they were all the same..... but someone can clear us up.

Coming up for the Nationals in mid September??

So I don't have to get the 68 mounts for the radiator support? I can use ones for a 72? I understand they are different.

I was also looking in the LMC catalog and I believe it said some of the steering components were different between power and non-power steering trucks? If I can get a power steering setup for my 250 I would LOVE to use it but would I have to change anything besides the gear box?
