Re: Dana 44 quick question
Yes, the rotor and Hub are one unit.
In order to get the inner axel seals out you have to remove the carrier inside the pumkin, so axels and everything need to come out. This will not mess up your gear alignment because the alignment shims are squeezed onto the diff by the bearings. Once you remove the diff/carrier you can pop out the seals. Use a long broom handel or something solid that you can push into the axel housing from the wheel side to contact the seal, then tap it out. Clean and reassemble. I think the calipers are the same 1/2ton & 3/4ton for all D44 but I am guessing on that one.

Re: Dana 44 quick question
the hub and rotor have to be removed from the spindle in one piece but they are really two seperate pieces-#1 hub, #2 rotor and are held together as a unit by the "pound in" wheel studs.

Re: Dana 44 quick question
True, I guess I was comparing that to the newer types that are two piece when you pullum off the spindel

Re: Dana 44 quick question
Never realy needed to do that but I would guess a shop press would be easier than trying to hammer them out.
