progress pics
so i got a flatbed for my truck and today i installed the gooseneck hitch, mounted the filler neck, and started working on lights. and its just been a long time since a added some pics
here it is as she sits now and heres the flatbed as you can see, someone spent some money on rhino lining...and its bubbling and peeling... my wood grain dash is all nasty..will that clean up or is it f'ed? speaking of dash, is this a common dash pad?

Re: progress pics
Yeah not as familiar with the GMC dashes. That may be how they were. Especially in the 73 & 74 years. You may ask Jeff, HotRod73, he has a lot of info about these trucks.

Re: progress pics
I have a '76 GMC and the dash is much different than that. It has a large trim piece that runs the length of the passenger side. I think your is a 73/74 GMC only dash.

Re: progress pics
well today i got the lop side mud flaps off and put on a set of used ones my dad had on his truck, a little dirty but could beat a freebie! got the lights finished except one, i actually need to pay for one got the lights wire and the trailer plug wiring finished, now just need a plug, the one i was going to used was f'ed...got the rod and made some brackets for the gripes(sp?) to hold the body down, gotta finish that tomorrow... got an awesome sunburn, and showed off my pile to some friends..
really all have left is get the body bolted down, some little loose ends there, buy and install a new proportioning valve (oh thats going to be a treat, working on that AGAIN), make a battery tray, and im pretty sure it'll pass inspection...then i guess i'll start with some interior crap...vinyl get hot OW!

Re: progress pics
That dash pad is a medium duty and up dash pad. Light duty trucks had the passenger side trim.

Re: progress pics
well today i got everything done i could, i need to buy a couple of little things to finish the body but theyre not necessary. but i do need to buy a battery since the deep cycle marine battery doesnt fit right, and the vice grips holding the cables on are tacky...
now i also need a proportioning valve, i think. everythings in place but since i replaced a brake line, i havent had front brakes. we jerked around with the re-centering pin on it and are just uneducated on the topic, educate me whats the deal with the proportioning valve and is there some trick we just dont know about that'll save me $50 on a new valve? any help is much appreciated!
