the guy driving my truck calls me and tells me the radiator went. I told him tot ake it to a radiator shop and they cant fix it and being its an 82 i guess its old enough so try to locate an aftermarket one and every one that comes in has plastic tanks and is the wwrong size.. can anyone give me part number or suppliers of one they used on an 82 with an 8 cylinder , automatic transmission and air conditioning

Re: Radiator

Good luck finding a copper replacement. All new radiators are aluminum with cap ends. I've run a 454 aluminum for years without any problems.
Is the truck diesel?

Re: Radiator

I think I would go aluminum too, unless you are wanting to keep the original look, or keep the cost to a minimum.

A while back I replaced my stock copper unit in my '86 C-10 with a new aluminum acdelco unit. It used to run warm, but after the new radiator it never ran above 185. It's an awesome radiator. I've since gotten rid of the truck, kept the radiator and it will be going into the '82 I am building.
The radiator itself is about 3 inches shorter but they supply new backets to raise it up on the bottom. If you'd like I can get you the GM part number for it.
